Sonoran Blue Stabilized Turquoise Rough
Sonoran Blue turquoise comes from a small "hobby" mine near Cananea,
Sonora, Mexico. It has a fine medium-light blue color with pyrite matrix.
Turquoise is a copper-based mineral (hydrated copper aluminum phosphate).
Turquoise polishes well with diamond, tin oxide or green rouge.
Sonoran Blue turquoise is
composed of sawn chunks and nuggets. It tends to have a fine medium-light
blue color and some matrix, which is mostly pyrite. (Rough in the photograph
